How to make a photo talk
In SendShort, open AI Studio and click the Photo to Video tab. You need a photo and the words that the photo will say.
1. Open Photo to Video
Open AI Studio from the sidebar and select the Photo to Video tab.
2. Make the audio
Set the voice settings and click Generate Audio. This is what the photo will say.
3. Pick a photo
Choose the photo that you want to bring to life.
4. Queue the video
Queue the video. SendShort makes a video where the photo talks with your audio.
What is photo to video?
Photo to Video is one of the two tabs in SendShort AI Studio. It turns a still photo into a talking video. You give it a photo and audio, and the photo speaks the audio.
It is the fastest way to get a talking clip in AI Studio. You do not make an avatar or split a script into scenes. One photo and one audio track are enough.

Photo to Video or Avatar Studio?
AI Studio has two tabs. Both turn a photo into a talking video. Pick the one that fits the job.
Photo to Video
- One photo and one audio track.
- Set the voice, click Generate Audio, pick a photo and queue the video.
- Best for one short message or a hook.
Avatar Studio
- A named avatar from one reference photo.
- A script in several scenes. Each scene uses text to speech (about 100 voices) or your own audio.
- Avatar styles: normal, close-up and circle. Output: 9:16 at 1080p.
- Open the video in the editor to add captions, B-roll and music.
Plans and Credits
Photo to Video is part of the Professional and Business plans: from Professional ($29/month). Starter does not include it. Business includes more photo-to-video videos than Professional.
When you use all the photo-to-video videos of your plan, you can pay with Credits. A photo-to-video video costs 60 Credits for each started 10 seconds. For example, a 25-second video uses three started blocks of 10 seconds, so it costs 180 Credits.
Professional includes 500 Credits a month and Business 1,500. Credits reset each month. A Credit pack is 300 Credits for $9.
Credits never unlock a feature that your plan does not include. On Starter, you cannot use Credits for AI Studio. See all plans on the pricing page. You can get a refund within 24 hours of payment.
