What you can do in Claude Code

Import long videos

Import a long video from YouTube, Twitch, Kick or a direct link. Keep up to 8 long videos at a time.

Clip into shorts

Pick a number of shorts or the AI moments. Set the caption theme, crop, format, B-roll, zoom, silence cut, transitions and translation.

Make music videos

Make a 9:16 music video of up to 60 seconds from a song link, with lyric captions. The app has no music-video screen: use an agent or the API.

Find your content

List your long videos, shorts, slideshows, templates and caption themes. Get the MP4 download link of a short.

Schedule shorts

Schedule shorts to your connected TikTok and YouTube accounts. List scheduled, failed and published posts, or cancel one.

Schedule a slideshow that you made in SendShort to TikTok as a photo post.

Connect SendShort to Claude Code

  1. Add the server

    Run this command. --scope user makes SendShort available in all your projects.

  2. Authenticate

    In Claude Code, type /mcp, select sendshort and choose Authenticate.

  3. Sign in and allow

    A SendShort page opens in your browser. Sign in, check the app name and click Allow.

  4. Ask for shorts

    Ask Claude Code for shorts from videos that you own or have the rights to use.

Imports start at most 3 a minute and clip jobs 5 a minute. For a long list of links, ask Claude Code to wait between calls.

What the agent cannot do

No SendShort tool makes slideshows, faceless videos or AI avatars. Make those in the SendShort app. The agent can list your slideshows and schedule them to TikTok. Scheduling works with TikTok and YouTube only. For other platforms, download the MP4 and post it yourself.

Plan and limits

From Professional ($29/month). The AI Agent and the API are on the Professional and Business plans. Starter does not include them.

Limits: 120 requests a minute, shared with the API. Your plan quotas apply, the same as in the app. Credits pay for use past the quota: for example, 12 Credits for an imported short and 30 for a music video. See pricing.

Access: To stop access, open Settings → Preferences → Connected apps in SendShort and disconnect the app. Read the privacy policy.

Questions about SendShort in Claude Code

What does --scope user do?

It adds SendShort for your user, so it works in every project. Without it, Claude Code adds the server to the current project only.

Can I use an API key instead of OAuth?

Yes. Send an ss_sk_… key in the Authorization: Bearer header, or use the npm package sendshort-mcp (stdio) with SENDSHORT_API_KEY. Never put the key in the URL.

Which SendShort plan do I need?

The AI Agent is on the Professional plan ($29/month) and the Business plan. Starter does not include it. See pricing.

How many long videos can I keep?

Up to 8 long videos at a time. Ask Claude Code to delete a long video to free a slot. Its shorts stay.

Should I use the API instead?

Use Claude Code when you want to ask in plain English. Use the REST API when you write your own code. Both share the same rate limit of 120 requests a minute.
